The Perfected Packing List, Courtesy of Saks

Everything about your upcoming voyage should immerse you in relaxation and one-of-a-kind experiences — but what to wear for them?

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has collaborated with Saks Fifth Avenue to provide inspiration, practical tips and shopping opportunities for voyages on our superyachts. Once your voyage is booked, you will receive exclusive welcome benefits, including VIP styling from a Saks Stylist to assist in preparing and packing for your voyage. Your styling expert will also curate a personalized digital lookbook with shoppable head-to-toe looks created exclusively for you.

Below is a sneak peek of the advice you’ll receive for what to bring on board, what to wear ashore and how to make the most of a celebratory evening — such as an all-white ensemble for our En Blanc event, or special looks for Disco and Havana Nights. By focusing on key styles, glamorous statements and pieces that do double (or triple!) duty through your time on sea and sand, you'll make the most of your suitcase while ensuring that you are perfectly outfitted for every excursion ashore and photo opportunity.

Before you embark on your voyage, read on for Saks stylist Hannah Ball’s tips, shopping picks and designers to add to your vacation wardrobe.

RCYC: What’s the secret to effortless style aboard The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection?

Hannah Ball: In keeping with the refined effortlessness of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, the key is to curate a selection of elegant, elevated pieces that complement the nautical aesthetic while still being personalized for you. Choose items that make you feel comfortable and chic. Vacation should be a time to experiment with new trends, colors and fabrics.

RCYC: What do you recommend for transitioning from casual day wear to sophisticated evening attire?

HB: The key is to pick a few pieces that are versatile, comfortable and flattering. For women, beautiful, breezy dresses that can be paired with sandals and a tote for the daytime, as well as heels and a small evening bag for night. Creating a capsule with a few key pieces that can be styled multiple ways keeps your outfits fresh while still allowing for lighter luggage. Another strong option for day to night are chic two-piece sets. I recommend a linen pants set for comfort and effortlessness.

For men, lightweight trousers and linen shirts are always reliable foundation pieces. They are comfortable to get you through your day exploring and can be dressed up for dinner with a smart jacket and loafers.

RCYC: What are the three must-pack items for chic onboard style?

HB: Think resort chic! 1.) A swimsuit with matching cover-up can take you from the deck to lunch. 2.) Reliable raffia for all your accessories. That can mean hats, bags, shoes. 3.) Elegant dinner wear. It's an ideal opportunity to wear something exciting and colorful that you may not get to wear regularly at home.

RCYC: What are the three must-pack items for elevated excursions ashore?

HB: Make it portable, effortless and easy to carry. I’d suggest an all-day tote; comfortable, chic shoes; and beauty-on-the-go, which includes sunscreen, body mists and lip balms.

RCYC: When curating a vacation wardrobe, what’s your go-to statement piece?

HB: A show-stopping dress for dinner is always in my rotation. Some designers I particularly love for resort wear are Johanna Ortiz, Farm Rio, Staud and Baobab.
